Joshua Tonga, developer of WiseGoal (“we,” “us,” or “our”), provides the app, website and related services. This policy explains how we handle your information. For privacy questions, email hello@wisegoal.app.
Information we collect
- Information you provide: account and profile details, age and eligibility responses, health and fitness records, goals, food preferences, check-ins, photos, and support messages.
- Information you permit: Apple Health steps, body weight and completed workouts; images you choose through the camera or photo library. Health access is optional and read-only. Imported records become part of your WiseGoal journal and may sync with your account.
- Service information: account and purchase identifiers, subscription status, feature usage and diagnostic information. Our providers may also process device and connection information, such as IP addresses, to operate their services.
A guest journal stays on your iPhone, but information submitted to online features leaves the device. Online guest use may create a service identifier that can later link to your account. Signing in enables journal and confirmed meal-photo sync. Progress-photo backup requires a separate choice.
How we use information
We use information to provide and personalize your journal and plan, sync your account, generate requested AI results, manage subscriptions and usage limits, respond to support requests, and secure and operate the service.
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on providing the services you request, consent for optional permissions and sharing, legal obligations, and legitimate interests in service security, support and subscription administration. You can decline optional features or withdraw their permissions.
How we share information
We use Supabase for accounts and cloud storage; OpenAI for requested AI features; RevenueCat for subscription management and subscription analytics; and Apple, or Google when selected, for sign-in. Apple processes payments; we do not receive your full payment-card details. Email providers deliver sign-in messages and support correspondence. Barcode lookup sends the product code to USDA FoodData Central.
Before AI sharing, the app explains what will be sent and asks for your permission. OpenAI receives selected food or label images, or limited food-preference, nutrition-target and weekly check-in information needed for the feature. Progress photos are not sent to AI. See OpenAI’s API data controls for provider processing and retention.
Service providers must protect information and use it for the agreed services, subject to their applicable legal obligations. We may also disclose information when legally required or necessary to protect users’ rights and safety. We do not sell your personal information, use it for cross-company advertising tracking, or use Health information for advertising.
Data retention and deletion
Local journal data stays on your device until you remove it. Synced journal content and saved AI results remain with your account. You can delete journal entries; deleting a meal does not separately erase its saved food scan result. Account deletion removes your account’s journal, cloud photos and saved AI results.
Limited subscription-linked purchase, usage and diagnostic records remain after account deletion for purchase restoration, usage limits and billing reconciliation. Retention depends on continuing purchase-restoration eligibility, subscription usage periods, unresolved billing or support issues, and applicable accounting or legal requirements. Account deletion does not automatically erase these records, provider logs or backups, Apple or RevenueCat billing records, or copies on other devices and in exports.
Support correspondence is kept according to the request, any follow-up or dispute, and applicable legal requirements. Contact us to request deletion or ask about retained information.
Your choices and rights
Use Your space to export your journal, delete data from this iPhone, or delete your account and cloud data. Photos must be saved separately from the journal export. Account deletion does not cancel an Apple subscription.
You can manage device permissions, AI sharing and photo backup in the app or iPhone settings. Stopping Health updates keeps earlier imports; Remove Health imports deletes WiseGoal’s imported copies while preserving the original Apple Health records. Manage access on each connected iPhone.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, and complain to your local privacy regulator. Email hello@wisegoal.app to exercise these rights. We may verify your identity, but will not ask for your password or sign-in code. Plan suggestions require your acceptance before changing your targets.
Security and international processing
We use access controls and protected storage to help safeguard private information. No system can guarantee complete security.
Our cloud service is hosted in the United States. Providers may process information in other countries, where privacy laws can differ. Their data-processing terms describe the safeguards applicable to their services. Contact us for information about international processing and safeguards for your data.
Cookies and tracking
The WiseGoal website does not set advertising or analytics cookies. Hosting and service providers may process technical request information needed to deliver and protect the site.
Children’s privacy
WiseGoal is intended for adults aged 18 and over. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.
